Residential Insurance Reinstatement
Storm Damage — Full Structural Reinstatement
Project Overview
Equinox Projects was engaged by CGU Insurance to design and construct the full reinstatement of a residential property severely damaged by storm. Previous contractors had failed to progress the claim — Equinox took charge of architectural, hydraulic and structural designs, managed all approvals and delivered the project within 8 months, resolving a longstanding issue and delivering exceptional client satisfaction.
Scope of Works
- Full architectural, hydraulic and structural design coordination
- Development approval management and council liaison
- Structural rebuilding and reinforcement
- Complete internal fit-out and finishes
- Electrical, plumbing and HVAC coordination
- Insurance compliance documentation, ITPs and final handover report
Challenges
The claim had stalled with previous contractors — Equinox mobilised with a clear programme and accountability framework to restore insurer and homeowner confidence.
Full design services were required before construction could commence, adding a critical pre-construction phase that had to be tightly managed.
Coordination between the insurer, loss adjuster, homeowner and design consultants required structured communication and weekly reporting throughout.
Delivery
Full reinstatement completed within 8 months. All insurance compliance documentation, structural certification and close-out records were delivered to CGU Insurance at handover. The homeowner returned to a fully restored, code-compliant property.
