St Marys Public School
Live School Environment Upgrade — Department of Education NSW
Project Overview
Equinox Projects was engaged by the Department of Education NSW to upgrade student facilities for special needs at Princess Mary Street, St Marys. Works were delivered inside a fully operational school environment — requiring meticulous staging, student and staff safety controls, and daily coordination with school administration to maintain zero disruption to learning.
Scope of Works
- New perimeter and internal fencing to AS 1926 safety standards
- Door and window replacement across the support unit
- Area reconfiguration to improve functionality and accessibility
- Site safety management within a live school environment
- Stakeholder communication and Department of Education reporting
Challenges
All works were conducted while the school remained fully operational, requiring strict noise management, exclusion zones and staged access outside learning hours where necessary.
Special needs facilities demanded heightened sensitivity to student wellbeing and routine — disruption to any part of the support unit required advance notice and alternative arrangements.
Department of Education documentation and QA requirements were maintained throughout, with ITPs and progress reports submitted at each hold point.
Delivery
Project completed on programme in February 2026. All Department of Education QA and compliance records were submitted at practical completion. School administration commended the team for professionalism and minimal disruption throughout.
